Fall 2023 Haute Couture: Georges Hobeika’s Dream
For Fall 2023, Georges Hobeika presented a joyful collection, titled “A Dream.”
Using a summer palette of pink, lilac, blue, and green, the 65 looks showcase the craftsmanship ability of his atelier, with exquisite embroideries on delicate fabrics. “This collection was imagined to celebrate hope and optimism. We have chosen soft colours and fluid silhouettes that evoke joy, gentleness, and freedom," says creative directors Georges and Jad Hobeika.
A variety of floral and botanical motifs flourish in delicate embroideries with dragonflies completing the idyllic landscape. To add playfullness, crystal water drops were added on several gowns, reinforcing the sense of movement.
The expertise of the designer’s ateliers was expressed through the crafts of refined fabrics such as silk, duchess satin, organza, crepe chiffon, and georgette, as well as the sophistication of ornaments with cascades of crystals, feathers, and pearls.
A plethora of accessories complemented this enchanting wardrobe: unusual tulip belts, large winged earrings, and crystallized flowers harmoniously blending nature and couture in service of elegance.
Of note, the designer continue to send down his runway a few couture looks for men, an increasing trend seen amongst couturiers aiming to cater for a wide clientele.
