(Press release) Words change over time, while aesthetic, social and cultural references that reflect ways of life take on new meanings.
Today, Giorgio Armani reworks the concept of the “folk” style that emerged between the end of the 1980s and the early 1990s to express a new freshness that, while inspired by a phenomenon of the past, illuminates this look in a modern way, as in a game of mirrors. Sheer and lightweight materials – tulle mesh, tulle, organza and brilliant silk – alternate in overlapping patterns, fully embroidered with light-reflecting crystals. The impression is that of a clear water surface reflecting a ray of moonlight or sunlight.
The softness of powder pink, dusty blue and jade green – accompanied by pale chromatic elements – is enhanced at times by sudden touches of black, a pleasantly strong, assertive contrast
