Artketing: Loris Cecchini for Chaumet

Chaumet has selected contemporary artist Loris Cecchini to collaborate on a special edition of its iconic Class One diver timepieces.

Limited to just 300, the watch features an iteration of Cecchini’s “Wallwave vibration” series from 2012, which interprets the ripple effects of water in movement.

The “Wallwave vibration” sculptures have been shown in various places including the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and the MoMA PS1 in New York, and have now been transformed into a unique motif on the watch dial, which is in turn adorned with lace-like mother-of-pearl and a satin-finished sunburst effect background.

It is a new spin on the Class One, which has been known as a trendsetter itself, given its avant-garde combination of steel, rubber and diamonds.
