Martell Cordon Bleu prepared early celebrations ahead of its Tricentenary anniversary in 2015 by reaching out to the famed French sculptor Bernar Venet. Venet is well known for his arch series and he has created a miniature version to showcase a new special blend, created for the anniversary. With three groups of arches (one for each century) converging, but stopping in mid-air the sculptural design places the focus on an elegant Sèvres crystal decanter that contains a blend of 18 eaux de vie from Martell’s cellars. For the decanter, Martell has brought back the teardrop-shaped design of a 1912 bottle and only 300-pieces in this very special packaging will be produced, each individually signed, numbered, and priced at €10,000 ($12,800).

As for the new nectar itself? Martell describes it as having a “pleasingly aromatic note with candied orange peel, blackcurrant, combined with the subtle notes of walnuts, on the nose and in the mouth.”
