Spring 2026 Haute Couture: Miss Sohee’s Korean Landscapes
Miss Sohee's Spring/Summer 2026 collection frames the body as both structure and canvas, with the silhouette becoming a support for miniature landscapes—embroidered, painted, and layered across silk, organza, and taffeta.
Designer Sohee Park’s new collection is rooted in Korean heritage and memories of her Summer house in her native Korea. Wisteria, bamboo, and the changing skies she observed inform embroidery, layered sheers, and hand-painted organza. Korean landscapes—mountains, mist, and botanical motifs—are interpreted across silk, taffeta, and chiffon, layering ombré shades to echo natural light and shadow.
Most gowns stay close to the body through corseted bodices and fitted skirts, though a few widen subtly. Sheer fabrics let the garments move and catch light, while embroidery, feathers, and brass details add texture without bulk.
The sixteen looks feature over 37,000 Swarovski crystals, applied precisely along seams and edges to emphasise lines, with some pieces requiring 2,500 hours of handwork.
Hand-painted Korean mountain landscapes appear on capes and overskirts, layered to create depth. Feathers and brass elements grow from the construction itself, accentuating form. The designer also drew inspiration from the Jakhodo folkloric tale about a tiger and a magpie, incorporating the storyline into an elegant gown.
East meets West in both detail and structure. Botanical motifs and chinoiserie shapes sit alongside clean lines that recall 1960s tailoring. Overskirts, capes, and sheers balance volume with proportion. Accessories continue this logic: mother-of-pearl bags shaped like fans, sculptural trinkets, couture phone cases—all reflecting the same attention to form.
The bridal finale offers a white gown with a hooded veil patterned in wave-like crystal embroidery. Unlike previous theatrical closers, this emphasises proportion and layering over volume—a restrained conclusion that reflects the collection's overall approach.
Where last season leaned into drama, Spring/Summer 2026 chooses subtlety. Park's interest lies in how layering, embroidery, and sheer fabrics define presence rather than scale. What emerges is a consolidation: meticulous craft, careful proportion, and clear narrative remain central to Miss Sohee.
