Fall 2020 Haute Couture: Giambattista Valli's Ville Lumiere

This season’s collection by Giambattista Valli is an ode to the city where it was conceived, or as Valli calls it, “La Ville Lumière.”

The red gowns are meant to mimic the lipstick left around the rim of empty café cups, black is an ode to the iconic little black dress of Parisians, pink represents the city’s rose gardens, and white alludes to the decorative white moulding present in most Parisian apartments.

The creations are pure Giambattista Valli with grand exaggerated volumes, layers of silk tulle, giant bows, and chiffon.
