Alexis Mabille, Aurélie Saada Team Up for Short Film

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2paHZepzaW4 Couturier Alexis Mabille, who just presented his spring/summer 2014 collection in Paris, has teamed up with actress, singer, and film maker Aurélie Saada to create an enigmatic short film, “Et si j’étais toi,” a fictitious glimpse into the life of the “Alexis Mabille woman.”

Showcasing crystal-embellished looks from Mabille’s first ready-to-wear collection, which re-imagined World War II icon Rosie the Riveter as a Vargas girl, the short film features model Maria Kashleva in a series of flashbacks piecing together the activities of the night before.

Saada, who shot the film, said she wanted to set a “special atmosphere” with “a beautiful yet sensual, mysterious woman, full of character, and in the manner of detective fiction, to tell the story of Alexis Mabille in the body of a woman, dressed in crystals!” adding, “To me, Alexis puts himself in a woman’s shoes in order to create clothing to make us what we dream to be!”

Mabille is part of the Swarovski Collective for spring/summer 2014, an initiative that supports emerging designers in exploring the creative boundaries of crystal craftsmanship. Swarovski offered products and financial support for this short film.

It’s like dancing for both brands: to show what can be done between my brand’s DNA and the endless possibilities of Swarovski,” Mabille commented
