Looking for the perfect gift for Mother’s Day? Unlike flowers that will quickly wilt or chocolates that will soon disappear, a well-chosen piece of jewellery will remain with her forever. Spoil her with a piece from our selection that she can wear every day:

01 | PIAGET

Give your mother a rose that will never wither. One of Piaget’s most iconic motifs first appeared in Piaget’s creative garden in the 1960s. A keen horticulturist, Yves Piaget had an award-winning rose named in his honour in 1982; later, this glamourous rose, with 80 serrated petals, inspired the Piaget Rose jewellery collection.

The Piaget Rose openwork rose gold ring offers sensual curves with a sparkling diamond nestled among its generous petals, while the Piaget Rose bracelet incorporates a voluptuous open flower and a smaller bud in an asymmetrical position over an interlinking pattern of rose gold threads that elegantly encircle the wrist. There is also a similar version in white gold with 190 brilliant-cut diamonds.

02 | CHOPARD

The heart shape is the emblem of Maison Chopard and has inspired numerous collections dedicated to women with a “big heart,” who appreciate when buying a piece of jewellery can also do good at the same time. Some of the proceeds of sale from special editions of the jeweller’s Happy Heart collection goes to support several non-profit organizations.

The latest Happy Hearts — Golden Hearts collection was created in collaboration with EON Productions, the film company behind the James Bond franchise, and reinterprets the Happy Hearts by filling the hearts with ethical rose gold. The collection includes a bracelet, earrings, a pendant and a sautoir necklace, playfully alternating a large golden heart with a smaller heart containing a dancing diamond, so called because the stone moves freely within its setting. The necklace is also available with the large heart delicately set with diamonds.

03 | CHAUMET

Celebrate the close bond you have with your mother with a medallion pendant from Chaumet’s Jeux de Liens Harmony collection. With two asymmetrical half-circles brought together by a crossed link, these pendants are a beautiful metaphor for the love that unites two people. They can be personalized on the reverse with an engraved memorable date or heartfelt message. The gold medallions come in variations of malachite, onyx, and mother of pearl.

04 | VAN CLEEF & ARPELS

A piece of jewellery from the Lucky Animal Clip collection by Van Cleef & Arpels is the perfect companion for a stylish lady looking for precious, yet discreet daywear. The cute animals have been captured vividly, each sporting an onyx glaze, while the jewellers’ expert craftsmanship is showcased in the marquetry of hard stones and mother of pearl that creates the animals’ bodies, with each silhouette framed by tiny gold beads. The rounded shape of the onyx and mother of pearl Panda in white gold exudes tenderness, while the Duck in malachite and lapis lazuli appears in a more dynamic pose. The use of malachite’s evenly-spaced veins on the Turtle clip perfectly evokes the nuances of a shell.

05 | ANNOUSHKA

British jeweller Annoushka Ducas found inspiration in the oversize topiary of her Sussex garden and its concealed paths and hedges to create the graphic shapes of her latest collection. According to the designer, the mood of the collection is of “a garden party at midnight, illuminated by the flickering light of a disco ball.”

The results bring to mind the freedom of ‘70s jewellery with striking, long, tiered earrings composed of ribbons of textured yellow gold with unexpected black rhodium on the reverse forming a shadow effect, playful pendants hanging from minimal gold chokers and undulating bracelets tracing the ornamental tree shapes. Each piece makes a strong statement.

06 | HERMÈS

Inspired by its heritage as a saddler and harness-maker, the Échappée Hermès collection highlights the French maison’s chain-making craftsmanship while also reinterpreting its famous 1938 Chaine d’Ancre (anchor) design. Created in rose gold with a geometric aesthetic, the collection is stylishly sporty. With its intertwining of gold, the Échappée Hermès ring discretely makes its presence felt, while a long sautoir can be worn as a single wrap around or lariat necklace, inviting the wearer to experiment with different looks.

07 | HARRY WINSTON

Inspired by archival Harry Winston sketches dating back to the 1940s, the Lily Cluster motif is a stylized take on lilies in bloom, translated into a sculptured geometry of flowers and leaves in gold or marquise-cut diamonds. The Lily Cluster collection comprises pendants, earrings, bracelets, rings, and hair barrettes, and incorporates round diamonds to further enhance each shape. The jewellery is now also available in rose gold.

08 | DAVID MORRIS

Playful and carefree in nature, the British jeweller’s Berry collection brings to mind childhood sweets using turquoise, pearl and pink beads, each embellished with a small sapphire and diamond flower. The collection offers a range of flexible gold bracelets and berry shapes suspended as pendants or clustered as earrings. Some of the rings in the collection can be stacked allowing the wearer to mix and match them according to her mood. The open ring sporting a trio of beads at one end and a single ‘berry’ at the other is sure to be a conversation starter.

09 | FABERGÉ

The jewellery has a rich heritage linked to cherished family heirlooms and the maison’s famed bejewelled eggs. Whether worn as a charm on a gold bracelet or as a pendant, the eggs are always a delight, and the jeweller offers a vast variety to choose from. Some made in fine gold can be personalised with an endearing message, while others showcase the rococo guilloche enamel technique Fabergé popularised. Lockets from the Heritage collection offer a playful nod to the legendary Imperial Fabergé eggs, opening to reveal a miniature surprise inside (an animal, heart shape, etc.), a timeless pendant treasure that can eventually be passed.

10 | SUZANNE SYZ

Drawing on her love of Pop Art, Suzanne Syz is taking the serious out of high jewellery, creating unconventional and bold jewellery. Most of her creations are unique pieces, such as these playful fruit and vegetable basket earrings with tiny enamelled cherries, kiwi fruits, and slices of watermelon but the jeweller also offers a few limited editions pieces, such as these Andy Warhol pop art enamel can soup earrings, a great gift for an art lover.
