Cindy Chao's Black Label Masterpieces

Inspired by freshly sprouted Cardamom pods, the 2022 Black Label Masterpiece X and XI Spring Cardamom Brooches by Cindy Chao come in a pair. Crafted in the shape of a budding pod, with an undulating silhouette, the brooches celebrate three-dimensional craftmanship.

Each masterpiece features an oval-shaped cabochon Colombian emerald of approximately 81 carats, which is extremely rare in size and quality. The stone is complimented by the gems that surround it, which include yellow diamonds, brown diamonds, tsavorites, demantoids, colour-changing garnets, alexandrites, and green sapphires.

The glistening diamond spheres embedded in the pods are composed of several fancy rosecut diamonds. Used for their thin cut, rose cut diamonds allow light to penetrate within the piece rendering it extremely clear and vibrant. The emeralds and the diamond spheres at the heart of the pods are held by invisible settings while the pod leaves are articulated, allowing them to move ever so slightly with the motion of the wearer.
