In the Atelier: The Making of Emilia Clarke's Oscar Gown

Emmy-nominated actress Emilia Clarke wore a bespoke Balmain dress embellished with Swarovski crystals on the Oscars 2019 red carpet .

The glamorous gown featured 300,000 Swarovski stones in Light Amethyst. The original gown was created with metiers d’art flowers created by Maison Legeron.

But the actress, who is best known for playing lead character Daenerys Targaryen in the critically-acclaimed television phenomenon Game of Thrones, wore the gown at the Oscars without the embellishments for a more minimalist look.
