"The Mastery of Time" at the Biennale des Antiquaires

Biennale des antiquaires

From sundials to contemporary complicated mechanisms, visitors to the Biennale des Antiquaires, running at the Grand Palais Sep 10‑18, will be able to discover the pivotal moments in the perpetual quest to show time more precisely.

As part of the prestigious fair, the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie is presenting "The Mastery of Time," an exhibition that retraces the history of time measurement through around a hundred clocks and watches loaned by the Foundation's 26 partner brands

Beyond the timepieces, the synergies between different crafts will be conveyed through workbench demonstrations by various artisans (an enameller, an engraver, a gem-setter, a jeweler, and a watchmaker) reinforcing the message that "Haute Horlogerie" is a complex discipline that is the sum of many talented individuals.

A virtual reality experience will also provide an immersion into the life of a 19th-century watch wearer.
