Fall 2012 Haute Couture On Aura Tout Vu's OnceUpon a Time
Faithful to the house’s creative niche, mixing glamour with rock’n’roll, On Aura Tout Vu presented an eccentric yet opulent collection that stood out from the many sedate runway presentations this season.
Inspired by a faraway kingdom where confident queens rule the land, creative designing duo Livia Stoianova et Yassen Samouilov celebrated their 10-year anniversary in couture with a regal collection that presented the maison’s coat of arms and mixed enchanted white, jewelled black and bewitching red.
No minimalism here, with a liberal use of furs, feathers, Swarovski Crystals and lace to dress those who would be queens and princesses for a day. Of particular note was a short coat with raised shoulders in a patchwork of different furs, while a pleated silk organza grey shirt with sleeves staying up thanks to expertly sewn folds also caught everyone’s eyes.
There were the usual touches of humour. Glasses shaped like royal crowns, an oversized 16th century-inspired regal collar made of metal and Swarovski Crystal and the dramatic finale, a bride escorted down the runway by two Centaurs, wearing a lace skirt with small metal spikes to ward off any excited admirers.
