On Aura Tout Vu - Exhibition in Calais
Their aesthetic choices can border on the outrageous and over the years they have subverted the codes of good taste and created clothes that challenge, mock, and inspire. Yet, the designing duo of Livia Stoianova and Yassen Samouilov behind the French fashion label On Aura Tout Vu have also proven their commitment to craftsmanship, regularly presenting during Haute Couture week in Paris and they provide an original point of view on ‘traditional’ couture dresses.
The fashion house, first founded in 1998, will now be the subject of an exhibition at the International Center for Lace and Fashion in Calais from Jun 21 to December 31.
Neither a retrospective nor a show seeking to present the grand themes and codes of the couture house, this exhibition will be more of an opportunity to question and understand the pleasures fashion and fashion “objects” (accessories) can provoke, explains curator Lydia Kamitsis.
The exhibition, organized around various “sensations,” will cover the collections produced between 2003 and 2014, and showcase the use of lace in their work.
