Fall 2015 Haute Couture: Ralph & Russo and the Fabergé Spirit
Ralph & Russo continued to demonstrate the rising might of its UK-based atelier and the abilities of its petite-mains with a collection rich in golden brocades, Chantilly lace, curled feather appliques, and heavy glass and pearl beadings.
The Fall 2015 collection of Tamara Ralph was inspired by the intricate work of Faberge and the London-based Australian designer tried to recreate his spirit of intricate embellishment. Ogival motifs adorned a structured jacket, mink pompom tassels dripped all over a floor length skirt, bejeweled brocades, tone on tone embroideries and micro-beaded florals relief, the designer ran the gamut of her atelier’s skill.
Elegant floor length capes, a staple of the young designer’s house, were particularly impressive, such as a pink ostrich feather and fox fur cape and a white silk organza one with pearls and white mink pompon, as were the rococo heels of the shoes she had designed to match the Collection.
