Lebanese designer Georges Hobeika turned to impressionist master Claude Monet for inspiration in his Fall/Winter 2014 Haute Couture Collection, which he presented at the Ecole des Beaux Arts on Monday night.

Nature, and flowers in particular, has always been at the heart of Hobeika’s designs and this collection was no different as the designer created his own impressionistic garden with blue and purple petals finely edged with sequins to form a skirt, a light dusting of crystal dew drops on shoulders and sleeves, and delicate applique pink petals on top of green embroidered leaves.

There were plenty of long capes and short capelins, peekaboo openings on a fitted top that teased without revealing anything, pretty bow details at the waist and around the neck.

The designer also showcased the work of his atelier with organza applique flowers combined with butterflies embroidered on silk, embroidered sequins and beads, and embroidered flowers that seem to be growing on the dress with applique at the top.

Dark and peacock blue, along with flashes of red were the dominant colors of this feminine collection, which also presented several mini-me versions for children.
